The following two guinguettes, situated on the banks of the river Marne, are within 2 mins. walk of the Camping International campsite at Tremblay. If coming from the centre of Paris on the RER suburban railway, get off at Joinville-le-Pont and catch Bus 101 .Ask driver for “guinguettes” (pronounced gan-gets). You can eat & dance at either especially at weekends in spacious dance halls.

Using same RER line as above, get off at Champigny. Come out of the station and walk main road opposite to river Marne. On the other side are steps down to the left. Walk along river bank 5 mins. and restaurant is on little island. Nothing in Paris is cheap but well worth a visit!! Get off RER at Joinville le Pont and catch bus 108/208 (?) confirm with bus inspectors office. If driving there, parking is v. limited. So be early and expect to drive up a pathway to get there!! Booking essential as every Sunday there is a regular clientèle. Small but nice. Other days not known.
